Australian James ‘Ned’ Kelly, is captured in Vietnam in the late 60’s by the Viet Cong and with others, they are held in a bamboo cage, embedded into the Mekong river bank. They are rescued, seemingly by US special forces, the rescuers however are part of a rogue CIA team involved in clandestine war tourism ‘Tiger Hunts’.
Kelly is rehabilitated at their base of operations, an Estate that is a secure rubber plantation near the Laos border. While recovering he meets a mysterious woman who will eventually lead him into further danger. Although he remains skeptical, he is left with little choice but to join the Estate’s operations.
Kelly doesn’t take long to realise things are very wrong at this jungle base, including the theft of foreign aid, drug trafficking, political assassinations and war crimes, but he is trapped in this ‘cage of war’.
When a tiger hunt goes badly, Kelly is wounded and almost left for dead, but is again rescued and taken to a US Hospital Ship and patched up, but this time he is sent back home to Australia.
Discharged from the army he settles down in the Adelaide Hills on a small property, but when an explosive chain of murderous events from his past unfolds across the globe, his life, family and friends are all threatened.
Can Ned ever be free of this ‘Cage of War’?
