ABOUT DR TANYA LYONS - EDITOR
Dr. Tanya Lyons lives in the Adelaide Hills with her family, has a passion for words and writing, and is a specialist in tertiary education. As an Academic and Professional Editor her aim is to help you with all of your editing and writing needs. She has had over 40 years experience in the university sector and is well placed to assist local and international students with their essays, theses and publications; and with all other writing needs in the wider community. Dr. Tanya Lyons PhD is available to assist with your academic and professional writing and editing needs. She can either meet you face to face if you are in Adelaide and surrounds or through phone or email correspondence if you prefer, especially for interstate or international clients.
Since 2018 Dr. Tanya Lyons has been freelancing as an editor to assist students all over the world to complete their PhD theses, understand the academic requirements of their courses and to write better essays. As an education consultant and editor, Dr. Tanya Lyons is able to assist you with all of your academic needs.
Since 2020 Dr. Tanya Lyons has also been assisting local authors to complete their fiction and non-fiction manuscripts and publish their stories with Moonglow Publishing and is now offering expert advice and assistance on all of your publishing needs. Her aim is to support local authors to publish their manuscripts.
In a previous life and career Dr. Tanya Lyons was a Senior Lecturer in International Relations at Flinders University for 20 years, where she specialised in teaching and researching African Politics and International Relations, and she was the Managing Editor of the Australasian Review of African Studies (2009-2018). Dr. Tanya Lyons’ book Guns and Guerrilla Girls: Women in the Zimbabwean Liberation Struggle (2004) was based on her PhD research in Zimbabwe in the late 1990s. Dr. Tanya Lyons has written many academic chapters including “Reflections on the Feminist Dilemmas of Fieldwork” (2019); “Post-Independence Africa: Challenges and opportunities” (with David Jolley, 2018); “Education in Australia’s Relationship With Africa” (2013); “Locating Australian Engagement with Africa” (with David Mickler, 2013); “Australian Foreign Policy Toward Africa” (2012) and “The State of African Studies in Australia” (with Elizabeth Dimock, 2007).; New Engagement: Contemporary Australian Foreign Policy Toward Africa (with David Mickler, 2013); South Sudanese Diaspora in Australia and New Zealand: Reconciling the Past with the Present (with Jay Marlowe and Anne Harris, 2013); and Africa on a Global Stage (with Gerry Pye, 2006).
