Dr. Tanya Lyons lives in the Adelaide Hills with her family, has a passion for words and writing, and is a specialist in tertiary education. As an Academic and Professional Editor her aim is to help you with all of your editing and writing needs. She has had over 35 years' experience in the university sector and is well placed to assist local and international academics and students with their articles and PhD theses and publications, and with all other writing needs in the wider community. She can meet you face to face in Adelaide and surrounds or chat on the phone, correspond via email or meet on a video call. *** After a rewarding career over three decades in the university sector in Adelaide, in 2018 Dr. Tanya Lyons became a freelance editor, journalist and education consultant. Since then, she has assisted dozens of doctoral students from all over the world to complete their PhD theses and get through the examination process. Dr. Tanya Lyons is available to assist you with all your academic writing and research needs. In 2020, inspired by the number of local authors taking up writing a novel during covid lockdowns, Dr. Tanya Lyons established Moonglow Publishing to assist local authors to complete their fiction and/or non-fiction manuscripts and to publish their stories. Moonglow Publishing offers expert advice and assistance on all your writing, editing, and publishing needs. We aim to support all local authors publishing their manuscripts. In partnership with the South Australian Country Women's Association Inc. Tanya Lyons is the Editor of their flagship magazine SA COUNTRY WOMAN, working closely with her fabulous graphic designer Bec Stevens at Earthling Delights Graphic Design in Meadows to produce this wonderful magazine celebrating the activties of the SACWA. Whether she's editing a Phd, reviewing a local murder mystery, or interviewing an incredible woman from the SACWA for a feature article, Dr Tanya Lyons admits this is the best job she has ever had. *** In a previous life and career Dr. Tanya Lyons was a Senior Lecturer in International Relations at Flinders University for 20 years, where she specialised in teaching and researching African Politics and International Relations. She was the Managing Editor of the Australasian Review of African Studies (2009-2018) and as an Executive member of the African Studies Association of Australasia and the Pacific for over 25 years she was also the publisher of its flagship journal. Dr. Tanya Lyons’ book Guns and Guerrilla Girls: Women in the Zimbabwean Liberation Struggle (2004) was based on her PhD research conducted in Zimbabwe in the late 1990s. Dr. Tanya Lyons has written many academic articles and chapters including “Reflections on the Feminist Dilemmas of Fieldwork” (2019); “Post-Independence Africa: Challenges and opportunities” (with David Jolley, 2018); “Education in Australia’s Relationship With Africa” (2013); “Locating Australian Engagement with Africa” (with David Mickler, 2013); “Australian Foreign Policy Toward Africa” (2012) and “The State of African Studies in Australia” (with Elizabeth Dimock, 2007); New Engagement: Contemporary Australian Foreign Policy Toward Africa (with David Mickler, 2013); South Sudanese Diaspora in Australia and New Zealand: Reconciling the Past with the Present (with Jay Marlowe and Anne Harris, 2013); and Africa on a Global Stage (with Gerry Pye, 2006). She is currently working on a 'fictional' crime novel in between clients.
